About Chuck Sharp, the Geek

Chuck Sharp physically resides in Phoenix, AZ (mentally, who knows?). During the day, he works as a system administrator, managing web servers, email systems, and other fun stuff. He has been doing PC technician and system administration work for ten years, some of it self-employed for home users, and some of it as a sub-contractor for companies like Dell and Toshiba. He has worked on literally thousands of PCs and enjoys the complexities that make up the computing environment today.

After hours, he does geeky side work as well as teach Taekwondo. In 2003, he graduated from Arizona State University with bachelor degrees in philosophy and psychology. Chuck loves to teach in any way possible, and plans on doing so for the rest of his career/life in some way, shape, or form. He really is a geek at heart, and loves playing with computers, pda devices, and anything else that requires electricity. Chuck is currently enrolled at Arizona State in the Master's of Information Management program.

Why 'Geek'?

Chuck says: "Wikipedia talks about geeks. I used to think there was an actual distinction between 'geek' and 'nerd.' Now, I'm not so sure. But I've labelled myself geek for so long now that I think it's stuck. Hey, I'm proud about my geekiness. It comes in handy, and no one calls me normal. This is a Good Thing™."
