102 ways to relax, reduce stess, and enjoy life more

The following is a list I’ve been creating for a while. It’s built from many random sources, and has no particular order. I haven’t tried many of these, but they all sound good to me!
For your body
- Go to the gym
- Workout at home
- Go for a walk
- Go for a run
- Eat dark chocolate, it’s good for you and mood altering too!
- Kick and punch a heavy bag (like those used in boxing)
- Sign up for a martial arts class
- Avoid alcohol
- Drink green tea
- Take adaptogenic herbs, such as ginseng
- Play sports
- Cut the caffeine
- Take yoga
- Take B vitamins
- Eat less
- Breath deeply and slowly for a few minutes.
- Take a power nap
- Get more sleep
- Take a hike, literally
- Get a massage
- Learn Tai Chi
- Stretch
- Go to a sauna
- Have a day at the spa
- Drink herbal tea
- Take a hot bath
For your mind
- Turn off your cell phone, or leave it behind
- Get rid of a lot of stuff
- Simplify your life
- Stop doing low value things
- Pay attention to what has your attention
- Process your email and paper inboxes to zero
- Stop watching TV
- Leave work at work
- Only check e-mail 2-3x a day - seriously!
- Take a real lunch break
- Say “no” more often, and mean it
- Learn to be assertive
- Identify and reduce the major sources of stress in your life
- Deal with your problems
- Do a weekly review, well, weekly.
- Renegotiate the commitments you have with yourself
- Renegotiate the commitments you have with others
- Have an actual three day weekend without work
- Let go faster
- Meditate
- Go camping
- Go on a relaxing get away drive
- Practice progressive relaxation
- Go on a relaxing vacation
- Pet your pets
- Learn your stress signs
- Clean the garage
- Do a relaxing visualization exercise
For your soul
- Slow down
- Share your problems with your spouse
- Clear your conscience
- Do something where you get to yell (martial arts, sports, …)
- Talk to a good friend
- Talk to a therapist
- Start a blog
- Keep a journal
- Write a letter to someone that you would never send
- Find some alone time
- Avoid energy vampires
- Forgive someone for real
- Read an inspirational novel or book
- Read the bible
- Go to church
- Give money and things away to people, church, and charities that can use it
- Do affirmations
- Write out inspirational quotes, scripture, affirmations, and goals on index cards for regular review.
- Get up earlier than everyone else
- List 100 things to be grateful for
- Pray about your burdens and ask God for help. Lots of help.
- Give thanks to God
- Praise god
- Listen to inspirational programs in the car
- Listen to funny audio programs
- Create vision for your life
- Make more friends, and remember to appreciate the ones you have.
- Serve as a volunteer for a cause you’re passionate about.
For fun
- Play with your kids
- Hang out with friends
- Smile more
- Laugh more
- Plant a garden
- Play with a puppy
- Get a pedicure or manicure
- Get a foot rub
- Give a foot rub
- Go through your picture albums for fun
- Call up an old friend or a relative
- Find a fun hobby
- Sing out loud and with soul
- Watch a really inspiring movie
- Watch a really funny movie, preferably with friends and family
- Read a book that’s fun, funny, or inspiring
- Go to an art, science, or history museum by yourself or with friends
- Go out to eat at someplace completely different from the usual
- Visit the puppies at your pet store, but be careful, they grow on you.
- Learn to draw, dance, sing, or play a musical instrument.

I have done the “Get a massage” for the first time a few weeks ago. It truly did help, it was amazing. I would recomend it. I have also found going for a long walk with my wife in the evenings has helped.

The irony is that this list itself is too long and gives huge stress to read.
