TED Talks

If you haven’t had the pleasure of watching any of the TED Talks online, you’ve missed out on some amazing presentations. This is a conference that takes place every year, and features a wide range of speakers talking about everything from philosophy to video games to environmental issues to underwater voyages to amazing science breakthroughs. High octane fuel for thought. Very recently, they’ve listed their top 10 videos. These list some of my favorite, like Gallo’s underwater footage (incredible). Here are a few more of my favorites:
- David Gallo: Underwater astonishments (video) — yeah, it’s good enough to list twice.
- David Bolinsky: Fantastic voyage inside a cell (video)
- Richard Dawkins: The universe is queerer than we can suppose (video)
- Aubrey de Grey: Why we age and how we can avoid it (video)
- Will Wright: Toys that make worlds (video)
Honestly, take an hour over the next couple of days and watch these. These will inspire you. Really, couldn’t you use a little more honest-to-goodness, child-like excitement in your life? I know I can!
